Opportunities beyond the classroom (ERASMUS+KA2/2020)

A new Erasmus KA2 project carried out by the 3rd Junior Highschool of Chania in cooperation with five european schools, for the school years 2020-2021 & 2021-2022. This project relays the hopeful message that knowledge should not be restricted in a classroom or in a building. It can be, in any case, linked with real life.

5th mobility (Chania, Crete)

The 3rd High School of Chania, during the period 06 - 10 March 2023, carried out the 5th mobility of the Erasmus+ / Action KA2 program, with code: "2020-1-BG01-KA229-079247_6" and title: "Opportunities Beyond the Classroom" and welcomed groups of teachers and students from 5 European schools (Bulgaria, Spain, Italy, Croatia, Romania). Mobility in Chania had a special theme "Local historical trails". It was an exciting week, full of experiential activities, excursions and routes in space and time, group activities, substantial human communication and mutual approach, happy moments and emotions. We chose historical paths of our country, in which we listen to the voices of our ancestors and find pieces of ourselves, collecting from the past mosaics that compose -along with many others- our current physiognomy, who we are. 6th mobility (Como, Italy)

During the period 08-12 May 2023, the 3rd High School of Chania participated in the 6th mobility of the European program ERASMUS+KA2 entitled "OPPORTUNITIES BEYOND THE CLASSROOM" in Como, Italy, in collaboration with I.S.I.S Paolo Carcano, a multipurpose school, in which General education and Technical Education coexist and are combined, with many disciplines, directions and specialties, covering a wide range of sciences and arts. The theme of this mobility was "Language learning outside the classroom". 4 students of the Third Gymnasium participated, accompanied by the responsible teachers Alexia Kastanaki and Ioannis Gouleakis. The children received exemplary hospitality from families of Italian school students and had the opportunity to engage in interesting group activities with students from all partner European schools. Αλεξία Καστανάκη: I am a teacher of ancient and modern greek language and literature, at the 3rd Junior Highschool of Chania. I am interested in innovating educational programs and modern, as well as effective teaching methods. In particular, I seek to give a boost to the tuition of various lessons with outdoor activities, with learning experience beyond the classroom. In this basis, Ι consider meeting and cooperating with colleagues from other European countries to be very important. I am sure that the ERASMUS+KA1 and ERASMUS+KA2 programs offer valuable opportunities to both teachers and students in order that they can be richer and more capable in acquiring knowledge, in creating substantial human relationships, in tasting a lot of interesting new experience.
