Opportunities beyond the classroom (ERASMUS+KA2/2020)

  During the period 10-14 October 2022, the fourth mobility of our school's Erasmus+KA2 program took place, entitled: "Opportunities Beyond the Classroom" at the Liceul Tehnologic school in Costesti, Romania, on the topic of "Outdoor expeditions". The group of students of the 3rd Gymnasium was accompanied by teachers Antonis Choreftakis and Alexia Kastanaki. Each group had the opportunity to present activities carried out by its own school outdoors, which are related to scientific research, the environment, sports, history and tradition and exchange ideas and experiences. Students of all schools visited sights of the wider region (Arges), museums, mansions and castles (Bran fortress), as well as the remarkable historical city of Brassov and came into contact with the history and tradition of the place. They worked in multinational groups during the days of the program, collecting information from the educational excursions they carried out during these days and ...

  The 3rd High School of Chania, in the framework of the European program ERASMUS+KA2 2020-1-BG01-KA229-079247_6 with the general title "Opportunities Beyond the Classroom", made five (5) trips to European countries during the school years 2021-2022 and 2022-2023 with groups consisting of 4 students and two accompanying teachers. The  first mobility took place in Croatia between 20-27 March 2023, in the town of Čakovec (90 km northeast of Zagreb), in cooperation with the Gimnazija Josipa Slavenskog school. The   four students’ team of the 3rd Gymnasium was accompanied by the teachers Alexia Kastanaki and Theodora Theodoridi.   our  school The 3rd Gymnasium of Chania is located in the city of Chania, the second largest city of Crete with a population of about 54,000 inhabitants. The school is located in the center of the town and it is one of the oldest schools of Chania. It is a public school with 214 students aged 12-15 years old. It provides a 3-year compulsory education. The 3rd Junior High School is housed in a building whose construction began in 1973 and was completed in 1977. At the beginning it ran as a girls gymnasium and until 2006 it was named “4th Junior High School”. It was renowned for the academic success of its students. Till 2013 it had been working in a double morning-afternoon shift along with another school, and due to the increased number of students, many of the rooms which were supposed to be multi-functional, were turned into classrooms so as to cater for the lack of classrooms.
